Audio trimmer: cut mp3 and audio files online

Trim audio online with a free mp3 cutter. Cut the start and end off a song, voice note or recording on its waveform, and save it as an mp3. No upload.

How to trim audio online

  1. Drop the file above, or choose it.
  2. Drag across the waveform over the part you want to keep.
  3. Play it to check the start and the end, and type the times to fine-tune them.
  4. Save it. The file keeps its sample rate and channels.

A short fade of a third of a second at each end hides a click where a word was cut. It is worth turning on when the cut lands mid-sound.

After trimming

A recording that will be published usually needs its noise taken out and its loudness set. The noise remover and the volume booster do each step.

Questions

Is my file uploaded?

No. The file is cut in your browser, and it never leaves your device.

Can I cut out a part from the middle?

This tool keeps one part and drops the rest. The Gleam Audio app cuts out a stretch from the middle, or splits a recording into many parts.

How exact is the cut?

To a tenth of a second when you type the times. Drag on the waveform to find the spot, then type to fine-tune it.

Is there a length limit?

The free trimmer takes files up to 10 minutes. The Gleam Audio app takes files of any length.

Can I use it as an mp3 cutter?

Yes. Drop an mp3, keep the part you want, and save it as an mp3 again.

Can I make a ringtone with it?

Yes. Keep about 30 seconds of the song and save it as an mp3. Android phones take an mp3 as a ringtone.
