Online voice recorder: record your voice and save it as an mp3

A free online voice recorder with no sign-up and no download. Record from your mic, hear it back, and save it as an mp3 or wav. Nothing leaves your device.

How to record your voice online

  1. Press Start recording, and allow the browser to use your mic.
  2. Talk, and watch the bar. It should reach the green part when you speak, not the red.
  3. Press Stop, listen back, and save the recording as an mp3 or wav.

The recorder stops by itself at 10 minutes. Pause it for a break, and it carries on in the same recording.

Tips for a clear recording

  • Test the mic first. The mic test shows if it is too quiet, too loud or picking up a noisy room.
  • Leave the browser’s noise cutting off for the best sound. Turn it on for a quick voice note in a noisy place.
  • Clean it up after. The noise remover takes out fans and hum, and audio to text turns it into notes.

Is my recording uploaded?

No. The recording stays in your browser until you save it to your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Why does the browser ask to use my microphone?

Browsers ask before any page can hear you. Allow it once, and the recorder can start.

How long can I record?

Up to 10 minutes at a time. For longer talks, record in parts and put them together with the audio joiner.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in Chrome, Safari and Firefox. Keep the screen on while you record, since some phones pause a page in the background.

How do I get a cleaner recording?

Record close to the mic in a small, soft room. Afterwards the noise remover takes out fans, hum and hiss.

Can I record without signing up or downloading anything?

Yes. The recorder runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install and no account to make.

Can I save the recording as an mp3?

Yes. Pick mp3 for a small file to share, or wav to keep every bit of the sound.
