How to make audio louder
- Drop the quiet file above, or choose it.
- Pick a loudness target, or type how many decibels to add.
- Press Change the volume, then compare the two.
- Save the louder file as an mp3 or wav.
How it works
The booster measures the file’s loudness, works out how many decibels it needs, and turns the whole file up by that much. The loudest moments are held at −1 dBFS so they don’t clip.
A target sets the loudness the way podcast apps and streaming sites measure it. A number of decibels is for when you know how much louder you want it.
Before you boost
- Remove noise first. Turning up a recording turns up its hiss and hum too. The noise remover takes it out.
- Check where it stands. The LUFS meter shows how far the file is from each platform’s target.
